Hail the Lake!
This year’s tuning bash at Lake Wörth once again pulled out all the stops. Golf monster-hps and a small-scale powerhouse made heads turn. The so-called “Gummiplatz” and the Dotz booth, as usual, were the ultimate hotspots at the GTI convention in Reifnitz.
Roughly 150,000 fans of the Wolfsburg car factory flocked to the south of Carinthia to celebrate the creation of the VW Golf, as has been the tradition for 36 years now. With coilovers by Gepfeffert and SRS Tec wings, the Wolfsburger pulls off 265 hps, with overboost briefly even revving up to 290 hps.

Less tuning, more off-road was the concept for this Q2 which boasted Dotz Dakar.
This time, VW brought together all brands on one booth. Visitors got to see the Rallyecross Polo RX with 600 hps steered by rallye legend Petter Solberg.
There was a lot of commotion at the event’s name givers booth where everyone celebrated the...
...Up GTI. 115 hps drive the pipsqueak to 100 km/h in just 8.8 seconds, with the final speed reaching (electronically limited) 197 km/h.
The Golf GTI TCR was impressive, too. The Volkswagen Motorsport fireball sucks 243 kW from a 2-l turbo engine with fuel direct injection.
Audi drove a TT e-tron to Reifnitz.
Apart from the latest design ideas there is always room for tradition, embodied, for example, by 40-year-old Beetles or...

Once more, the 36th edition of the GTI convention left nothing to be desired.
The date for the 37th convention is already fixed: it will take place between 9th and 13th of May 2018.
