Classic Recreations rebuilds the famous Ford Mustang

In 1967, American automotive designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby redesigned a Ford Mustang into a breathtaking convertible: the Shelby G.T.500. The often called perfect car was only built once – for Shelby himself. Thanks to US-tuner and restaurator Classic Recreations, 45 years later, the muscle-car is rebuilt and much stronger than before. Sadly, Carroll Shelby died in May 2012 and thus didn't live to see his dream come true once again.

Classic Recreations is famous for building true to original replicas from cars that were built decades ago. But behind the retro look with a wooden steering wheel there's hightech with a five-speed manual transmission and a special coilover. The recreation is available with either a fuel-injected 427 cubic-inch V-8 good for 545 horsepower or a supercharged variant with 780 ponies.

    Shelby G.T.500 Convertible Interior

Both in interior and exterior design, the personal signature of Carroll Shelby is obvious. Apart from authentic applications the car seats provide the signature of Shelby himself and the cars are even equipped with Shelby foot mats.

As can be guessed, a car with this much attention to detail can't be inexpensive. Prices start at $ 149.000 for 545 horsepower and go up to $ 199.000 for the more powerful version. On top of that, you have to wait at least four months for your very own Shelby G.T.500 Convertible.
