Nova Rock 2012 - Party and music marathon
150.000 fans rocked the Pannonia Fields in Austria
"Saving the best till last" that's how you could headline this year's three day party and music marathon in Nickelsdorf, Burgenland (AUT). To see headliner Metallica live, the crowd had to wait till Sunday night. But it was worth it.
After a hot and dusty start, the weather changed into pouring rain and storm Friday night. But while shock rocker Marilyn Manson cancelled his gig due to the bad weather conditions, Linkin Park entered the stage and wowed the brave crowd despite the storm.
Saturday was all rainy and windy, but without the expected heavy thunderstorm, nothing could prevent the headliners of the day, "Die Toten Hosen" and Limp Bizkit from rocking through their greatest hits.
Sunday was the day, most of the fans had been waiting for. After American trash metal band Slayer, Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and Evanescence's sinister gothic sounds, time had finally come for Metallica. And they knew how to end a once again spectacular festival with the installment of their snake-bit stage set up and the revival of their legendary "Black Album".
