    UPDATE 06.05.2012:

    Katana Team Video event summary.

Europe´s tuning scene rolled to the racetrack in Baden-Wuerttemberg for the 20th time past weekend.

The horsepower-elite attracts some 30,000 fans each year to the legendary Sachs-curve at the Hockenheimring.

A special highlight this year was organized by Dotz: a drift invitational race with some of the best drivers from the King of Europe series.

The invitation was followed by Dotz teamriders Diego Quaranta and Marco Blasutta, by Dmitryi Illyuk, Benjamin Boulbès, Franceco Conti, Roman Kolesar and Franck Lagalice.

Before it got really serious with the sideways driving, tuning fans were able to get a very close glimpse of drifting at the front passenger seat, when they saw the steering wheel-artists at work in a drift shuttle.

Among the top four of the drifters was Slovak Roman Kolesar his BMW M3 E46 and Italian Francesco Conti (BMW M3 E92). Conti was able to beat the Slovak in two battles and rose to the finals.

In the second semifinal Dotz teamrider Marco Blasutta (BMW M3 E36) met Boulbès Benjamin from France with his BMW M3 with M5 engine.

The higher power of the V8 of Boulbés´ car finally turned the balance and Boulbès went ahead to meet with Conti.

In the two final battles Conti and Boulbès went to the performance-limit of their cars.

The tight duel finally ended with a narrow victory of the Frenchman.

The victory in the Dotz invitational race at the High Performance Days 2012 was therefore Benjamin Boulbès (red suit) ahead of Francesco Conti and Roman Kolesar (in blue).

The Tuner GP - the average of the five fastest laps were evaluated before the winner was decided on a real race - also attracted numerous participants at the Hockenheimring.

The winner was finally Patrick Simon. His Corvette ZR1 with a V8 compressor hits the road with 647hp and 819Nm.

But High Performance wasn´t only necessarily on the road but also beside: there the stars were called Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche. A show car special and an extensive sports car exhibition displayed 60 exotic sports cars – some of the most spectacular are presented here at dotzmag.com.
