The Heros of a Japanese world gone sideways pulled another stunt at Tokyo Auto Salon and were burning heaps of rubber.

Like every year Tokyo Auto Salon invites legendary D1-drifter to an exhibition.

So the sportsman like Ken „Nomuken“ Nomura, who are honored like rockstars in Japan, meet up for a drift together at Tokyo convention center Kahin Makuhari.

Among those were also Masato Kawabata (left) D1-champion 2007 and coverboy of Dotzmag 2008 and Nobushige Kumakubo, D1-champion 2006.

Toyota is throwing a rising star into the upcoming drift-series. According to rumors Hibino Tetsuya will steer an all new GT86 across the D1 tracks.

Tetsuya is still going strong with the successor of the GT86, the AE86.

Two of eight competitors (pic: Naoto Suenaga) were going one lap each at the area around the exhibition halls...

...and were acclaimed and rated by the always loud judges (pic: the BNR32 Skyline of Tsuyoshi Tezuka).

Next step were the battles well-known from drift-weekends. Kawabata could pull off a win in the first round ...

    ...against Suenaga,...

...but he had to surrender in the next duel against Daigo Saito, D1 champion 2008.

Saito advanced to the finals, where he and his 800hp strong Toyota Mark II JZX100 met Hibino Tetsuya with his AE86.

Tetsuya always got close to Saito, but had to say goodbye to his rear wing and thus defer to Saito.

We caught Tetsuyas mishap also on video.
