20 drift-series pulled together at the end of 2011 to promote a world gone sideways on a global basis as new World Drifting Association (WDA). Spokesman within the WDA will be Dotz-sponsored series King Of Europe.
King of Europe, Xtreme Drift Circuit, Drift Sud America and SSK Racing combine for the 2011 founded WDA. The group wants to popularize this unique sport on a global basis. . Dotz teamrider Adam Kerenyi, runner-up of the 2011 series, would be amongst those who benefit.
The WDA wants to approach partners and sponsors with one voice to boost the global promotion-level of each series and of driftsports itself. Around 1.000 athletes from 20 national series will be represented by the WDA. In addition the rules of each series will be more transparent.
Last year King of Europe started to measure the angle and accuracy of the drivers with a telemetric system. The Dataracing Drift System is according to King of Europe-organizer Mike Proceur the most innovative measuring system. With an accuracy of ten centimeter the judging is going to be even more objective.
Also the second Dotz teamrider within the King Of Europe, Sebastien Cornec, will be exactly scaled.
The WDA includes drift races from USA, Brasil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republik, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, Slovakia, France, Sweden and Greece. International events will be the next step, final goal is a global drift series. |
