The New York hip-hop punks had to delay the release date of "Hot Sauce Committee" due to Adam Yauchs cancer. Now the album is here and the Beastie Boys rap is in full force through the album.
Actually, the Beastie Boys wanted the new album "Hot Sauce Committee" hit the market already two years ago. But then everything changed. Adam "MCA" Yauch became ill with cancer, so that his recovery was the bands top priority. Two years later the album was released now with a rejuvenated MCA and the ironic words "Part Two". © picture depot
Adam "MCA" Yauch, Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad Rock" Horowitz returned with the new album to their own, good ancient tradition, even if never differed from their unconventional productions. Not that they ever musically stagnated or showed signs of boredom at work. They were already old school when they were young. So even 20 years later nothing changed. © picture depot
Fortunately, the latest work doesn´t try to sound artificially young or want to impress anyone. The Beastie Boys-music is still dominated by retro-vintage synthesizers and drums. Including live dynamics, jazz-funk parts and guitars. © picture depot

This puts their own music full of references, from the punk drum solo in "Lee Majors Come Again" to the low-end electro funk "Here's A Little Something For Ya". The lead single “Make Some Noise" sounds in a similar groove as in 1998 once "Intergalactic". "Nonstop Disco Power Pack", however, shows that it takes no more than a bass line behind an unobtrusive drum to form a rap context. © picture depot
Added: "Hot Sauce committee Part Two" could just as well appear a decade ago. And unquestionably MCA and Ad-Rock sound almost like 1980. But honestly, who cares? The Beastie Boys really don´t have to prove anything nowadays. Their entire discography is innovative and fun enough to carry their songs today. © picture depot
