The gti claims the 35th year of his existence at the 30th gti-meeting took place at lake Woerther. 200.000 fans came to celebrate.


30 years – and not a bit gentle. Gti-community celebrates not only 35 years of gran turismo injection, but also a milestone birthday of the gti-meeting itself. Reason enough to bring along the big presents.


The biggest came from VW itself. The Wolfsburg-based company showed, on a gigantic booth including an island in the lake, the Golf gti edition 35 with 235hp as a world premiere.


Even a special issue of the 35 edition honoring the hosting village of „Reifnitz“ was there.


The VW-subsidiarys also came up with a lot of hot souvenirs. Like this A1 Clubsport Quattro from Audi. The devil from Ingolstadt performs mighty 503hp and the car rushes within a mere 3.7sec to 100km/h.

Beside this it was a party lasting four days. Round 6.000 showed up, almost 200.000 tuning-fans transformed the small village in Carinthia into the capital city of VW.

Creative car-reshapers from all over Europe showed what you can do with cars coming from Wolfsburg.

Traditionally there are also cars from the VW-subsidiarys in Carinthia.

Not missing at a 30-year-anniversary is a bit retro-style – like with this VW 181, which was built, beginning 1969, foremost for the German army, or...

 

...with a lot of beetles from the first days of the Golfs existence.

 

Loads of highlife was demonstrated again at the „rubber court“: stuntdriver and...

...lowrider left behind their marks in the concrete in front of the main stage.

 

And, as it happens at anniversarys, there is always a little bit of champagne around.

Thirty meetings are over and the date for number 31 is fixed already: the gti-meeting in Reifnitz will take place Mai 16th till 19th 2012. And of course Dotz will be there again.
